It would be hard to find a better place in Europe to learn surfing. The waves are dependable, the climate always warm, the surroundings are beautiful and it is easy to get to. The long beach of Famara has just the right size and shape of wave to enable almost anybody to learn this incredible sport quickly and easily.

Beginer surf lessons

Zoo parek surf school have all the equipment, know how and staff to get you riding the waves in no time at all. There are surf courses to suit all levels of surfer and plenty of waves break everyday only a few minutes from the shop.

Normal classes have a six day duration but it is possible to taylor these to suit your own needs.

Course Goals

-- Introction to the sprot and safety issues
- paddling and catching waves
- how to enter and leave the water, paddling, surfboard postioning, balance points, how to turn and control speed of the surf board.

Once you have a basic understanding of these simple aspects of the sport you will see your confidence grow and with that your enthusiasm for surfing.

Intermediate surf lessons

If you have already grasped the basic principles but would like some guidance from professional surfers then this course will be perfect for you.

This course is held on Famara beach but at a more advanced location with more rewarding waves.

Our instructions will be watching your every move and be honing you techniques to get you riding more waves better and safely.

Goals of the intermediatte course are:-

- improve paddling technique
- take off technique
- how to ride a wave front side and back side
- paddle out techniques like duck diving
- advanced maneouvres like cutbacks, bottom turns and off the lips
- moving on to more advanced equipment like short boards, fishes and malibus.

The advance course includes all materials, 5 hour lessons, transport, picnic, small groups, insurance and diplomas.
