Getting started on a kitesurf course in Famara
The best way to get into kitesurfing is by getting some good lessons on the right equipment in the right place.
Zoo Park kitesurf school and Famara beach fill the requirements.
The shop is only minutes from the start of the beach. We have ample equipment and staff to get beginners up and riding right up to being able to help the most advanced kiter improve.
Kitesurfing is an amazing sport and with recent advances in equipment it is easy and safe to learn.
It does not matter at what level you are, Zoo Park will give you a warm welcome and help you kitesurfing.

The different levels of courses are:-
1 - Introduction to kitesurfing: 1 day / 3 hours
This is for those who are totally new to the sport. We will show you all the equipment and how to set it up. Show you how the kite works, the theory and starter advice. This course is designed to help you find out if kitesurfing is for you.
Course price - 90 euros
Course includes:
- minimum of 2 hours
- equipment: bar lines leash harness, wetsuit, helmet, radios, etc…
- daily transport from our centre to the beach
- radio assisted classes
- insurance
- IKO accredited diploma of achievement
- possibility of pick up service from your hotel at an additional cost of 30€, per day, not per person!
2 - Beginner course: 2 days / 3 hours per day
So you want to kitesurf. Well this is where you start. We will start you at the beginning and walk you through all aspects of the sport. Safety, equipment, signals, rights of way, etc. How to be safe with the kite and where the power zones are. You will start in the water using body drag then gradually move on to actually water starting. We will let you progress at you own speed and keep you confident and happy.
Price of course - 180 euros

- daily transport from our centre to the beach

- IKO certificate of accreditation

3 - Intermediate course: 4 or 5 days / 3 hours per day.
Now you should be familiar with the basics and understand what needs to be done. This course will see you riding across the sea. After this you will be able to go out and kite on your own.
We will go through all aspects of the sport again and make sure that you know it all independently. All safety issues will be covered, water rescues, etc

- small groups
- insurance
- IKO certificate of accreditation

4 days or 12 hours - 355 euros
5 days or 15 hours - 455 euros
4 - Advanced course
This course is for those that can kite but would like to improve their technique.
The aim is to get all participants in the course to be able to
- kite surf to and from the beach
- weight shift with heel and toes to change direction
- acceleration on the edge whilst moving the kite
- controlled stop
- to be able to ride on the edge
- recovery of the board using the body drag upwind
- techniques of self rescue
- complete independence to kite in and out of the water
- changing direction
- theory of the jump
- controlled jump and landing
plus we will work through any specific problems your may have.
